“Elon Musk’s xAI to Launch AI Model to Select Group Tomorrow
While Elon Musk has been a prominent voice cautioning against the perils of artificial intelligence (AI) in recent times, his AI startup, xAI, is set to release its AI model to a limited audience in March 2023.

This move comes nearly a year after OpenAI’s ChatGPT captured the attention of businesses and users worldwide, leading to a surge in the adoption of generative AI technology.
In an announcement on X (formerly Twitter), Musk stated, “Tomorrow, @xAI will release its first AI to a select group. In some important respects, it is the best that currently exists.” Musk, who has criticized the AI efforts and censorship of Big Tech, earlier mentioned his intention to launch a truth-seeking AI capable of understanding the universe to rival Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s Bing AI.
Although Musk-owned X, the social media company formerly known as Twitter, and xAI are separate entities, they collaborate closely. xAI also collaborates with Tesla and other companies.
Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle and a close friend of Musk, revealed in September that xAI had signed a contract to train its AI model on Oracle’s cloud.

Elon Musk has recently expressed serious concerns about the dangers posed by AI and the need for its regulation. During an interview with Tucker Carlson in April, Musk stated, “AI is more dangerous than, say, mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production, in the sense that it has the potential—however small one may regard that probability, but it is non-trivial—to lead to civilization destruction.”
While attending the AI Safety Summit in the UK, Musk further commented on AI, saying, “There is some chance, above zero, that AI will kill us all. I think it’s slow, but there is some chance. I think this also concerns the fragility of human civilization. If you study history, you will realize that every civilization has a sort of lifespan.
